Farming
Kippendavie and Cauldhame Estate has about 1,276 acres of farmland which is in hand and managed through a contracting arrangement with a neighbouring, specialist dairy farmer, who produces milk for high-quality dairy products. There is a pedigree herd of Jersey cattle living on the Estate so most of the farmland is in grass, with some barley. The soil, altitude and rainfall at Kippendavie make the growing of grass and trees the best suited crops.
The land rises from 150 to 1,050 feet (45 – 320m) above sea level, with an annual rainfall of 42” (1,050mm).
