A commercial shoot was established in 2015 with pheasant and partridge poults being released for this purpose. Management of the shoot demands a high level of habitat conservation, leaving large areas of land in a natural state, creating ponds and wildlife corridors, planting game crops - which also benefits the Estate's resident widlife populations.
There is a healthy population of roe deer on Kippendavie. Unfortunately, in the absence of any natural predators, their numbers have to be occasionally controlled. This takes place throughout the year.
